Changes After Its Construction:
“Rifai Tekke” was established next to the mosque by Sheikh Mustafa Fadi Efendi in 1850.
It underwent extensive repairs in 1956 and 1975 and took its current form.
During the repairs, the interior was surrounded by one-meter-high wood paneling.
- Prominent features
Its current structure has a roof covered with tiles and has eaves.
There are two windows on each wall of the mihrab and narthex, and three windows on each of the left and right walls.
The ceiling is wooden and slatted.
Its minbar is wooden and its mihrab is hollow.
The upper gallery rests on two concrete pillars and its railings are concrete.
In the upper part of the mihrab, there is a small section that is probably not repaired or rebuilt and covered with wood and contains a section from the 150th verse of the Surah al-Baqara: “From wherever you set out, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque, and wherever you are, turn your face towards it”.
There are graves in its cemetery.
The graves of the founder Saraç İshak and the Rifai Sheikh Mehmed Fazlı Efendi are in this cemetery.
The corners of the gravestones are in the shape of a twisted sandglass. On both sides of the headstone there are slightly deep mihrabs, each containing four lines of inscription. The surroundings are decorated with Rumi reliefs.
There is a single line date on the outer surface of the footstone.
