- Changes the building has undergone since its construction
  • The inscription above the main door of the mosque, dated 1822-23, indicates a renovation carried out on this date.
  • In 1849-50, a fountain was built in the courtyard of the mosque by Hatice Sultan’s steward Mehmed Effendi.
  • In 2003, one of the rare tile panels depicting the Kaaba in the mosque was stolen and was caught at an auction in England in 2006, then brought back to Turkey. This panel is exhibited in the Directorate General of Foundations Museum, while a copy of it was hung in its place in the mosque.
  • As of 2023, a restoration process started in the mosque.
- Prominent features of the mosque
  • The mosque has a square plan and a single dome, and the passage to the dome is provided by pendentives. Brick and cut stone are used in the walls. The main door is located on the right side of the narthex.
  • The mosque has a three-domed portico, a stone minaret and a balcony decorated in the shape of an oyster shell.
  • To the left of the mihrab, there is a panel depicting the Kaaba, rarely seen in Ottoman tile art, consisting of six tiles. Donated by Osman, son of Mehmed of Iznik, this tile is dated 1726 and reflects the advanced techniques of painting in tile art of the period with its perspective.
  • There is a small graveyard in the direction of the qibla of the mosque.
