- Prominent features of the mosque
The mosque and its annexes are made of wood, and its minaret is made of cut stone. There are courtyard doors opening onto both roads. Next to the mosque is a marble well with a winding wheel and no inscription.
The founder of the mosque, Yekçeşm Ahmed Murtaza Efendi, died in 1747 and his grave is located in the cemetery in front of the mosque together with his wife.
The first sheikh of the lodge used as a part of the mosque was Abdullah Nidayi Efendi from Turkestan. Nidayi Efendi wrote a work called “Risale-i Hakkiyye” and he and his son Ubeydullah are buried in the mosque graveyard.
Abdülhakîm Arvâsî, who was the spiritual father of the famous Turkish writer Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, is the last sheikh of this lodge.
