- Prominent features of the mosque
A stone and brick structure supported by two arches on a rectangular plan, it is covered with a single dome surrounded by an iron hoop. The entrance door is reached by stairs.

It is known as the mosque where Evliya Çelebi saw his famous “Travel, O Messenger of Allah” dream and in this respect it is important in Istanbul folklore.
The founder of the mosqueAhi Çelebi was a Turkish physician who served as chief physician during the reigns of Bayezid II and Selim I. His father was the famous physician Mevlana Kemal, and Ahi Çelebi learned medicine mostly from him. He died in Cairo while returning from the pilgrimage when he was over ninety years old. He was buried near the grave of Imam Shafi’i, the founder of the Shafii school of Islam.
It is also known as Kanlıfırın Mosque and Yemişçiler Mosque.
