It was completely burned in the Hocapaşa fire and was rebuilt by the fourth army commander, Marshal Mustafa Tevfik, in 1881.
It was last repaired in 1957.
- Prominent Features
Behram Çavuş Mosque is made of stone, has a wooden roof and is covered with tiles. Its interior area is 109 m². It does not have a narthex.
The construction date of the mosque is written on one of the candlesticks on either side of the mihrab. Some of the verse panels belong to the famous calligrapher Sami Efendi.
There is a single-balcony, stone-made minaret attached to the right wall of the Behram Çavuş Mosque. Behram Çavuş’s grave is in the graveyard of the mosque.
