Smart City Project: DİJİTAL İSTANBUL
The Smart City Project “Dijital İstanbul” by İstanbul Valiliği aims to serve as a digital guide for those who want to explore our cultural heritage. With this project, it becomes possible to access accurate, fast, and clear information about the registered cultural assets in Istanbul, such as their construction year, patron, architect, and prominent features.
In the first phase, meticulously placed QR code technology panels have been installed in the 200 most visited mosques of our city, which has over 40,000 registered cultural assets. This technology, which allows access to information both in written and audio formats, works seamlessly with all smart devices. Prepared in five different languages—Turkish, English, German, Russian, and Arabic—“Dijital İstanbul” will soon be applied to all cultural assets, serving as a travel map for local and foreign visitors who want to learn and share historical, cultural, and architectural details.
