- Changes after its construction:
  • It was damaged in the earthquake in 1894 and was repaired in Arab architectural style.
  • The mosque with its masonry walls and wooden roof, of which there is no trace left from its original form built during the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror, was completely rebuilt in 1994 after various repair and expansion works.
- Prominent Features:
  • It is an Ottoman style masonry building with a wooden roof. It sits on a rectangular plan.
  • There is a muezzin and women’s gallery. The mihrab and preacher’s pulpit are made of marble and the minbar is made of wood.
  • The front of the women’s gallery is made of concrete with a wooden lattice. The balcony of the minaret is made of stone, with muqarnas and the cone is covered with lead.
  • Beyceğiz Fountain, named after the mosque, is a historical fountain located on the left side of the main entrance, with one side leaning against the mosque wall, the other side adjacent to the courtyard wall, and facing the street.
  • The family cemetery of Sheikh al-Islam Ibrahim Efendi is in the graveyard of the mosque.
