It is stated in its inscription that it was converted from a small masjid to a mosque in 1761.

It is also known as the “Malcı Mosque”, “Çırağı Mosque” and “Şamdancı Hasan Ağa Mosque”.
Malcı Mehmed Efendi is buried in the garden of the Primary School, which was built by Osman Çelebi, the son of Malcı Mehmed Efendi, opposite the mosque.
It is said that Şeyhül-Kurra (Sheikh of the Reciters [of the Quran]) Hafız Mustafa Efendi worked in this mosque in the 1940s.
The walls are made of masonry, the roof is wooden, and the ceiling of the mosque is concrete.
The minaret on the right side is made of stone and the balcony railing is made of iron.
The concrete upper gallery rises on three concrete pillars.
The mosque, which has a muezzin gallery and a narthex, has a mihrab and a minbar made of tiles, while the preacher’s pulpit hanging on the wall is made of wood.
