- Changes after its construction
  • The mihrab was added by Malcı Mehmet Efendi.
  • It is stated in its inscription that it was converted from a small masjid to a mosque in
    1761.

  • It is also known as the “Malcı Mosque”, “Çırağı Mosque” and “Şamdancı Hasan Ağa
    Mosque”.
  • Malcı Mehmed Efendi is buried in the garden of the Primary School, which was built by
    Osman Çelebi, the son of Malcı Mehmed Efendi, opposite the mosque.
  • It is said that Şeyhül-Kurra (Sheikh of the Reciters [of the Quran]) Hafız Mustafa Efendi
    worked in this mosque in the 1940s.
