- Prominent features
It is also known as the “Örücüler Mosque”.
According to Ekrem Hakkı Ayverdi, the walls and dimensions were left the same in the 1702 restoration; there were knob-barred windows on the sides, the fact that the two rows of these windows are rectangular indicates the presence of side loggias, and the fact that the walls are very thick is evidence that the structure is old.
The current building does not bear the stamp of the beginning of the 17th century; however, the Rumi-carved marble mirror above the door has been preserved from that restoration.
The structure is made of stacked wood.
Its tall, cut-stone minaret from the 18th century stands out with its single balcony.
The verse “And their Lord will give them a purifying drink” (Surah al-Insan, 21) is written on the old fountain located on the exterior of the mosque.
