- Changes after its construction
The mosque, which had been neglected for many years, underwent extensive restoration in 1953.
The building, which was originally domed, was converted into a flat ceiling and roof during this restoration.
When the borders of Cerrahpaşa Hospital were expanded in 1981, the mosque remained within the hospital garden.
It was restored in 1981-82, remaining true to the restoration carried out in 1953, and its concrete walls were preserved.
The narthex, whose foundation remains are still present, has been revived.
In 1983, a marble fountain with eight taps, eight columns and a cone-shaped roof was built.
- Prominent features
It is one of the four mosques located in the garden of Cerrahpaşa Hospital.
During the restorations it underwent, its domed structure was changed, and it was converted into a flat ceiling and roof.
Its mihrab is made of plaster, and its minbar and preacher’s pulpit are wooden.
The single-balcony minaret is located on the right side of the mosque.
There is a burial ground on the east side, where the grave of Hüseyin Lâ-Mekanî, one of the sheikhs of Melami Sufi order, is located.
The mosque is built on a high hill and attracts attention with its view overlooking the Marmara Sea.
