About: This tomb contains the graves of four sons and one daughter of Sultan Murad III. They died at a young age, likely due to a plague outbreak. In accordance with dynastic tradition, they were buried adjacent to their father’s türbe.

Prominent Features:

  • Octagonal exterior with a square interior; the floor is covered with hexagonal bricks.
  • Built of cut küfeki stone and covered with a dome.
  • The wooden main entrance door is decorated with interlaced geometric laths.
  • Interior walls lack tiles and calligraphy, but feature 19th-century black-and-white floral and ribbon-themed painted decorations.
  • During the 2006 restoration, original rumi-patterned malakari decorations above the windows, 16th-century tomb coverings (puşide), prince garments, and fragments of the Kiswa (Kaaba cover) were revealed.
  • The tomb houses five sarcophagi and is notably modest compared to the other türbes in the Hagia Sophia complex.
