In the Republican period, the building was allocated to the Provincial Special Administration by a decree dated 17 August 1924.
The building entered service in 1926 under the name Beylerbeyi 27th Primary School.
After the fire of 25 January 1943, the building became unusable; it was rebuilt as a single-storey structure.
The building underwent repairs in the 1975–1977 period.
The building was rebuilt in 1986 according to its original architecture; it was transferred to the Ministry of National Education in 1987.
The building was allocated to the use of the Istanbul Maturation Institute in 1988; it began to serve as an independent educational institution in 1989.
In 2012, the institute was affiliated with the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of National Education; the institution’s name became Istanbul Beylerbeyi Sabancı Maturation Institute.

The building was also known by the names Beylerbeyi Palace Aga Quarters, Beylerbeyi 27th Primary School, and Sabancı Girls’ Technical Education Maturation Institute.
The building was constructed within the Beylerbeyi Palace complex as the Aga Quarters, in the form of a two-storey masonry unit.
Within the institute, there is a museum hall and laboratory infrastructure supporting conservation and restoration work for movable cultural assets.
