From 1995 onward, it was used for a short period as a teachers’ house under the district directorate of national education.
At the end of the 2011–2012 academic year, it was transferred to the adjacent vocational and technical Anatolian high school to be used as a practice hotel.
It was taken into restoration in 2000 and underwent a repair process completed in approximately three years.
It has been stated that restoration works were initiated in 2022, and that in 2024 the building was again taken into maintenance/renovation.

With its position oriented toward the Bosphorus view, it is one of the historic structures of the central coastal skyline of Sarıyer.
Its construction year is also given as 1880 in some sources.
After long periods of vacancy, it was refunctionalized through different institutional uses for teachers’ house and educational purposes.
