Sarıyer Teachers’ Lounge
Changes After Construction:
- It was registered as a cultural asset in 1970.
- From 1995 onward, it was used for a short period as a teachers’ house under the district directorate of national education.
- At the end of the 2011–2012 academic year, it was transferred to the adjacent vocational and technical Anatolian high school to be used as a practice hotel.
- It was taken into restoration in 2000 and underwent a repair process completed in approximately three years.
- It has been stated that restoration works were initiated in 2022, and that in 2024 the building was again taken into maintenance/renovation.
Prominent Features:
- With its position oriented toward the Bosphorus view, it is one of the historic structures of the central coastal skyline of Sarıyer.
- Its construction year is also given as 1880 in some sources.
- After long periods of vacancy, it was refunctionalized through different institutional uses for teachers’ house and educational purposes.
