The structure underwent a comprehensive restoration in 1954.
With the “service unit” added to the structure later, the mass arrangement transformed from a rectangular to a “T” plan scheme.
The structure was reopened for use with a school function following restoration in 2015.
Prominent Features:
The structure is also known by the names Yeniköy Zografyon Greek Girls’ School, Yeniköy Zografyon Greek Girls’ Primary School, and Yeniköy Mixed Greek Primary Education School.
The structure was built in 1871 on a small hill behind the Ayia Nikolaos Church with a donation.
The facade arrangement carries Neo-Byzantine influences; it features walls decorated with red brick and a fortress-like facade composition.
On the eastern facade, there is a central projection that rises along the height of the building and terminates with an arch at the roof, along with angular formations at the corners.
The use of red brick in floor moldings, window frames, and eave decorations is a characteristic element.
