  • The structure, which was destroyed in the Hijri 1310 (1893) earthquake, was repaired in Hijri 1313 (1896) and served with the function of a lodge until 25 November 1925.
  • At the beginning of the 1926-1927 school year, education began under the name “Bala School” in the part of the structure allocated to the school.
  • With the decision taken in 1928, the other half of the structure was also transferred to school use; the school successively took the names “21st Primary School” and “Silivrikapı Primary School.”
  • In 1998, the school continued education under the status of “Silivrikapı Primary Education School”; after 2012, it began to serve only as a kindergarten.
Prominent Features:
  • The structure is also known by the names Bala Sufi Lodge (Bala Lodge), Bala School, 21st Primary School, and Silivrikapı Primary School.
  • The structure is single-storey; it has a rectangular mass extending in the east-west direction and is covered with a wooden roof clad with tiles.
  • In the mass, there is a “U”-shaped recessed arrangement inward at the middle of the west facade and at the northwest corner; the entrance is on the east facade.
  • The books belonging to the lodge library are preserved today in the Süleymaniye Library.
