Katip Çelebi Primary School
Changes After Construction:
- After the earthquake measuring 6.2 on 23 April 2025, inspections revealed cracks and plaster detachment in the building; the school building was deemed at risk and evacuated.
- Post-earthquake assessment indicated that restoration and structural strengthening of the building were appropriate.
- Due to seismic strengthening, school services are temporarily conducted at Fatih 29 Mayıs Primary School.
Prominent Features:
- The building is also known by the names Istanbul 54th Primary School and Istanbul Fifty-Fourth Primary School.
- The building is one of the ten schools planned to be constructed in the Historical Peninsula as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Republic.
- The building’s mass is designed in a “U” plan.
