Changes After Construction:
  • None of the structures of the complex has survived to the present day except for the bath.
  • The hot section (harare) of the bath was completely destroyed; the marble-paved floor remained in a very ruined condition, and the section turned into a courtyard.
  • The lantern opening at the top of the dome was covered with wood.
  • The bath was converted into a business inn in 1986; only the large domed changing hall section was preserved within the new building.
Prominent Features:
  • The school complex contains the only surviving bath remnant from the Ottoman period.
  • The structure is part of the endowed complex of Nevşehirli Damat İbrahim Pasha from the reign of Sultan Ahmed III.
  • In the plan arrangement of the bath, there is a large domed changing hall, followed by a warm section and a hot section with four iwans and four private cells.
  • It is stated that the water of the bath in question was brought from Topkapı Palace.
