The building, constructed in 1926 under the name 9th School, is one of 10 schools built in the same plan and type in the 1920s.
Since 1989, it has been used as a primary education school.
In 2012, survey, restitution, and restoration projects were prepared for the building, and it was restored.

On the projection of the front façade, there is a three-bay pointed arch arrangement.
Ahmet Emin Yalman, whose name the present school bears, is among the important journalists and writers who witnessed the recent history of our country.
Official records state that the architect of the Ministry of Education Construction Bureau, which commissioned the early Republican period schools, between 1923 and 1927 was Şemsettin Şeniz.
