The building, for which construction permission was granted in 1893, was completed in 1895.
Between 1918 and 1922, it was used first partially and then entirely as an orphanage. In 1923, it resumed its function as an educational institution.
The structure underwent major restorations in 1966 and 2002, reaching its present form.
Prominent Features:
The building, historically known as Esayan Armenian Girls’ School, currently operates as Özel Esayan Armenian Primary, Secondary, and High School.
At the time of its construction, the Surp Harutyun Armenian Church, located within the same plot, was also restored.
The historical Naregyan name associated with the site was changed to “Esayan” according to the conditions set by the Esayan siblings who commissioned the building.
During World War I, the historic structure was allocated for the training of nurses.
