The historic building was constructed in 1908 as Rüştiye-Ula.
In the following years, the building, which was used as Çatalca Idadi and Primary School, was occupied by the British in 1918.
After the War of Independence, it again served for educational purposes at various levels until 2018.
After a comprehensive restoration carried out in 2018, it has continued to serve as Çatalca Public Education Centre.
Prominent Features:
Cevat Pasha, the mutasarrıf who had the building constructed, is known as General Cevat Çobanlı, recipient of the Independence Medal.
Rüştiye-Ula, which formed the historical roots of the school, was known within the late Ottoman educational system as the highest-level secondary school, while Idadi was known as a high school.
This historic educational institution served not only Çatalca but the whole Thrace region in the first years of the Republic.
