Changes After Construction:
The building was constructed in 1866 as a mansion by Ahmet Tevfik Pasha, the last Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.
The structure also served for a period as the dormitory of Bezm-i Alem Sultanisi Teacher School and was rebuilt in reinforced concrete in 1983.
The building has been used for educational purposes from the early Republican period to the present.
Restoration works, which began in 2022, are ongoing.
Prominent Features:
The building, which has second-degree historical monument status, is also known as Bülbül Tevfik Pasha Mansion.
Constructed between 1904 and 1906 by civil engineer Charles Edouard Goad, it is shown on maps bearing his name as the “Girls’ School of Fine Arts.”
Designed as a four-story structure, the exterior is masonry, while the interior is wooden.
