In some publications, the date Hijri 995 / Gregorian 1586–1587 is given for the madrasa.
The structure has survived to the present through the repairs it underwent.
In 1970, it served the Institute of the History of Medicine.
The structure was used for a period with the function of a museum.
Prominent Features:
It is also known as Cerrah Mehmet Pasha Madrasa and Haseki Gevher Sultan Madrasa.
It is located opposite the Cerrah Mehmet Pasha Mosque and is regarded as part of this complex.
It is a madrasa with 15 cells.
It has a square-planned courtyard and a columned portico arrangement between the courtyard and the cells.
There is a portico at the entrance and in front of the iwan opposite the entrance; the opposite iwan was arranged as a classroom.
