Changes After Construction:
  • After the lodge was damaged in the Horhor Fire, it was rebuilt by Kasap Hoca Niyazi Efendi.
  • Because the wooden frame had lost its load-bearing capacity, the structure was vacated and fell into an abandoned state.
  • During the restoration process, the timber-frame system was reconstructed; the interior plaster and wooden façade cladding were removed, and the deformation in the structural system was corrected.
  • The wooden lath ornamentation on the ceiling of the tevhidhane and the wooden dome in its central bay were suspended, cleaned in a workshop setting, consolidated, and completed.
  • The restoration of the structure was completed as of 13 August 2018.
Prominent Features:
  • It is also known by the names Aksaray Uşşaki Lodge and Mehmed Emin Efendi (Naqshi-Qadiri) Lodge.
  • The lodge was recorded as one of the important Uşşaki centers in Istanbul.
  • Its first founder was Mehmed Emin Efendi of Kırkağaç, and its second founder was Sheikh Mehmed Fahreddin Efendi.
  • The structure is a two-storey wooden lodge building.
