Sinaneddin Yusuf-i Erdebilî founded the lodge in 1517 by adding cells to his house near Hagia Sophia Mosque.
The endowment of the lodge was established by a waqf deed dated 12 December 1539 (Hijri 946).
Between 1517 and 1925, the lodge functioned through a line of sheikhship and trusteeship carried on by men of the same family.
From its foundation onward, the lodge was rebuilt four times; the second building dates to the early 17th century.
The lodge building that survives today was constructed after 1916; the structure stands with a mass arrangement shifted to the right in comparison with its former location.
The lodge function came to an end in 1925 with the closure of the dervish lodges and zawiyas.
The tevhidhane section underwent repair in 2009; for a period, it was used under the name “Caferiye Lodge Mustafa Öncel Hall.”
