There is a record of a repair permit dated 1830; it has been considered that the repair date mentioned in the inscriptions refers to this permit date.
A vaulted space was identified in the north nave inside the building; a marble chancel screen fragment dated to the 5th century was recorded in the church.
The Ayios Yeorgios Andifoniti holy spring, associated with the church complex, is recorded in Balat.

Its other prominent names are “Aya Yorgi Andifoniti Church” and “Hagios Georgios Poteras”; it is also associated with the name “Andifoniti/Antiphonitis.”
In the Patriarchate tradition, a practice connected with this church is emphasized: the final annual chanting of “Christos Anesti” as a hymn.
The building is also listed within the boundaries of Balat under the name “Aya Yorgi Church.”
