Altı Mermer Panayia Greek Orthodox Church
Changes After Construction:
- The structure underwent repair within the scope of the restoration process carried out in 1835–1836 for parts such as the roof, walls, and the eave of the inner door.
Prominent Features:
- The church belongs to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Istanbul.
- The structure is also known as “Meryem Ana Greek Orthodox Church” and “Altımermer Panagia Church.”
- Within the complex, there is a holy spring bearing the same name as the church.
- In the interior decoration, a painted ornamental approach in which blue-dominant pastel tones and gilding are used together stands out.
- In the interior, decorative bands with vegetal and geometric motifs are seen on the upper levels of the side walls, along the architrave, and along the line of the arches connecting the columns in the central nave.
