Lütuf Paşa Mosque
Changes After Construction:
- The waqf deed of the structure is dated Hijri 900 / 1494; the mosque was built before this date.
- The record of 1518 also appears as a second date regarding the construction year.
- The structure was revived in 1958 with the support of the public.
- The school adjacent to the structure has not survived to the present day.
Prominent Features:
- The structure is also known as Defterdar Ahmed Çelebi Mosque.
- The name “Lütuf Pasha” is associated with the bath and fountain belonging to Lütfi Pasha in the surrounding area.
- Its plan is rectangular; its walls are masonry.
- The interior is plain; there is no ornamentation on the ceiling.
- There is wooden paneling on the wall surfaces up to a height of approximately 1.5 meters.
- Its mihrab and minbar are tile-covered; a tile-covering arrangement is seen at the lower levels of the windows.
- There is a graveyard in the courtyard.
