- Changes after its construction
  • The mosque, which fell into disrepair over time, underwent extensive restoration in 2005.
  • Some of the buildings in the complex, such as the bathhouse, primary school, food shops and the Imam-Muezzin lodgings, are in ruins today or are used as residences.
  • The restoration process is ongoing (according to the official website of Üsküdar Municipality).
- Prominent features
  • The mosque is a square-plan, single-domed building made of stone; the dome sits on four arches and attracts attention with its wooden structure.
  • The entrance to the mosque is from the narthex, which has three doors. The women’s gallery inside is designed as a balcony.
  • The minbar and preacher’s pulpit are made of white marble and decorated with relief patterns, and the interior is hung with inscriptions by Calligrapher Mehmed Râsim Efendi and Calligrapher Sami Bey.
  • The complex includes a bathhouse, a primary school, a timing room (muvakkithane), a fountain and rows of shops along with the mosque; the complex is affiliated with the foundation of Altunizade İsmail Zühtü Pasha and is also known as the İsmail Zühtü Pasha Mosque.
  • In the western corner of the mosque, there is a minaret that attracts attention with its baroque style decorations; cut stone was used up to the finial of the minaret.
  • The tomb of its founder, İsmail Zühtü Pasha, is located in the graveyard of the mosque.
