- Prominent Features
It is also known as the Hamid-i Evvel (“Hamid the First”) Mosque because of its benefactor. It is the last mosque on the Bosphorus.
It is located right next to the Anadolu Feneri (“Anatolian Lighthouse”), at an altitude of 75 meters above sea level.
The mosque has a magnificent sea view and the observation area is quite impressive.
The Anadolu Feneri next to it was built by the French in 1856 to guide ships during the Crimean War.
On the left side of the mosque is a peaceful bay with small fishing boats, while on the right side is a view of the new bridge.
Nearby is Poyrazköy, one of the beautiful villages of the Bosphorus, which juts out into the Black Sea.
