According to historical records, the mosque was repaired in 1901.
During the restorations, the original minaret was demolished, and the current minaret was built in its place.
In 1986, the mosque was completely renovated.
- Prominent Features:
It is said to have been built by Arpacıbaşı Hayrettin Efendi, who undertook important duties during the Conquest of Istanbul, but it is unknown since it has no inscription. Since it is mentioned as “Arpacıbaşı Mosque in Eyyub-i Ensari” in the book “Tezkiret’ül-Ebniye”, which includes the works of Mimar Sinan, it is also thought to have been built during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent.
The mosque has a low ceiling and a polygonal platform.
It is built entirely of wood, and its minaret is also wooden.
Its minaret has a closed balcony and a fringed cone and is at the corner where two roads meet and is suspended. The balcony of its minaret is similar to the balcony of the Silahı Bey Mosque and the balcony of the Semiz Ali Paşa Mosque.
Due to the unfortunate renovations, the originality of the mosque has been lost.
Next to the mosque is the tomb of Arpacıbaşı Hayrettin Efendi, dated 1456.
