The building, which underwent its first major restoration in 1833 during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II, was restored for the second time in 1885 during the reign of Sultan Abdul Hamid II.
In 1941, the third restoration was carried out by the Foundations Administration.
In 2008, Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, Chairman of the Board of Acıbadem Holding, had this structure restored in memory of his son Kerem Aydınlar, who lost his life in Cyprus. Thus, the historical structure has survived to the present day, having undergone significant repairs in different periods.

It is also known as Defterdarburnu and Ihmal Pasha Mosque.
The mosque is located on the coast between Ortaköy and Kuruçeşme.
Since it is located in a pit below road level, the mosque can be reached by descending a staircase.
It is a masonry structure and the top of the boathouses is constructed of wood.
It has two entrances, one on the stairway above and the other on the seashore.
It has a cylindrical body and a single-balcony minaret.
There is a small cemetery on the east side of the mosque.
It was built on the site of an old mosque built by İskender Çelebi, the treasurer of Suleiman the Magnificent.
Today, there are entertainment venues around the mosque, and on the upper part of the road level, there is the Naile Sultan Grove and the European Side legs of the Bosphorus Bridge.
