- Changes the building has undergone since its construction
In 1846-1847, the narthex was added and modern tiles were placed on the roof.
It was restored to its original state by the Foundations Administration between 1974 and 1981, and the dome and narthex were rebuilt.
- Prominent features of the mosque
It is also known as Dülgeroğlu Mosque.
It was built in the classical Ottoman style with a single dome made of cut limestone, the narthex is covered with four small domes and the arcades were later covered with glass.
It has a marble minbar and mihrab, and a wooden pulpit. There are a Muezzin’s Lodge and two women’s galleries.
As a unique feature of the mosque, the madrasah is located underneath the building (the ruins of the Canalıcı Church also known as Liybs Monastery are above it).
Its short, stone minaret, which draws attention with its projections and bracelets, has a single balcony and is entered from the narthex.
