In 1991, additional sections were built to the mosque by philanthropists Şeref Ali and Zekeriya.
In 2021-2023, the mosque underwent extensive restoration in keeping with its original state.

It is also known as the “Bülbüldere Mosque”.

It is called by this name because its surroundings were covered with forests and bushes, which were remembered by the singing of nightingales.
