- Changes after its construction
  • It fell into disrepair and was repaired by Sultan Abdulaziz in 1875.
  • During this reconstruction in 1875, the bathhouse adjacent to the mosque was also restored.
  • The bathhouse, which was transferred from the General Directorate of Foundations to the Treasury in 1926, was later sold to individuals.
  • During the restoration in the 1960s, the minaret of the mosque was lost among the concrete structures.
  • In 1979, a survey of the mosque was made, and with the approval of the Board of Monuments, some of the surrounding shops were purchased by the foundation.
  • In the early 1980s, the adjacent bathhouse was converted into a store and started to be used.
- Prominent Features
  • It is one of the oldest mosques in Bakırköy and is also known as Çarşı Mosque. It bears traces of 17th century Ottoman mosque architecture.
  • With the renovation during the reign of Sultan Abdulaziz, the mosque was enlarged and its minaret became salient.
  • The shops around the mosque which makes the management of the mosque associations easier today is also seen here.
  • As a result of the restoration carried out in the 1960s, the height of the minaret decreased and the original appearance of the building was damaged.
  • The elements added to the exterior of the mosque today (such as air conditioners) have negatively affected its historical texture.
