Changes After Construction
It was built by Osman Agha after the Kadı Mehmet Efendi Mosque was ruined in 1612.
It underwent a major renovation in 1811 during the reign of Mahmud II.
The mosque burned down in the great fire in Kadıköy in 1878 and was rebuilt the same year.
In 1880, a plane tree was planted in the mosque garden by Imam Mehmed Asım Efendi.
Over time, various renovations have been made and it has reached the present day.
Featured Highlights
It attracts attention with its domeless structure and walls built with three rows of bricks and one row of cut stone.
It has a small, thick-bodied minaret with a single balcony.
There is a two-storey women's gallery, which was added to the building later and is independent of the interior.
The inscription on the entrance door has been erased over time.
