  • The people who breastfeed and care for babies instead of their mothers are called “daye” in Ottoman Turkish. The mosque is also known as “Daye Hatun Mosque” because its benefactor was the “daye” of Suleiman the Magnificent.
  • It is a building with masonry walls and a roof.
  • Its single-balcony minaret is located on the right side of the mihrab, right next to the entrance door.
  • The interior is entered from the narthex, where there is a wooden balcony added later.
  • The upper gallery of the mosque is accessed by the interior stairs.
