A fountain was added to the complex by Dervish Mehmed Pasha in 1819.
During the reign of Mahmud II, extensive repairs were made.
In 1985, the interior was restored by the Directorate General of Foundations.
It underwent a comprehensive refit in 2005.
- Prominent Features
The structure known as Arakiyeci İbrahim Agha Complex and Takkeci İbrahim Agha Complex has tiles decorated by muralists affiliated with the Ehli-i Hiref organization. Green, blue, navy blue, white and coral red tiles were used in the Harim, which is covered with tiles from the plinths to the upper row of windows. The panel depicting grapes was made in reference to the dream that led to the construction of the mosque.
Some missing pieces of the mosque’s tiles were found in the Gulbenkian Collection in the Salazar Museum in Lisbon.
The mihrab covered with tiles with plant compositions, the stained glass, the marble minbar and the Kundekari door stand out among the unique architectural features of the building.
