It was repaired in the 17th century and it is thought that there was a small mosque or masjid on its site before.
It underwent an extensive restoration in 1953.
In 1983, the fountain was repaired and connected to the city network.

It has a wooden frame, infill walls made of bricks, and a roof covered with red tiles.
The women’s gallery is surrounded by wooden railings that sit on thin columns and open towards the mihrab.
The Harim has a rectangular plan and is covered with a wooden ceiling, flat on the inside and sloping on the outside.
Its mihrab is semicircular on the inside and a projection covered with a semidome on the outside. Its minbar and preacher’s pulpit are wooden. Its single-balcony minaret has a cylindrical body and is plastered on a cut stone platform.
On the right side of the prayer hall, there is an entrance to an additional space through a door at a high level. There are two graves surrounded by plane and cypress trees to the north and west of the mosque.
The Hamidiye Fountain is located on the eastern wall of the graveyard in the western part of the mosque.
The Kuruçeşme Fountain, which dates back to 1683 and gave its name to the district, is located on the eastern side of the mosque and is decorated with Seljuk star and cypress motifs. For this reason, the place of worship is also known as the Kuruçeşme Mosque.
