In the 2000s, the mosque was enlarged and rebuilt.
During the expansion, the original minaret of the mosque remained inside the structure.
On the left wall of the minaret, there is an inscription dated Rajab 1269 (Gregorian 1853-54), thought to belong to Bas Kadın Efendi, one of the concubines/wives of Sultan Mahmud. It is thought that this inscription belonged to the fountain located in the direction of the qibla in the past.
The mosque was later expanded by adding reinforced concrete additions.
