- Changes after its construction
  • After its initial construction, it underwent many years of repairs.
  • It was rebuilt in an eclectic style by Alexandre Vallaury in 1903 for Ahmed Afif Pasha.
  • In 1958, its courtyard and additional buildings were expropriated during the construction of the İstinye-Yeniköy coastal road.
  • It was damaged in the 1999 Marmara earthquake and was repaired by the Sabancı family.
- Prominent Features
  • The square-planned building, also known as the İstinye Mosque and the Yalılar Mosque, has a masonry structure, a wooden roof, wide eaves and a glass-fronted entrance.
  • The use of yellow and white colors gives movement to the facade. There is a basement on the north side due to the difference in elevation.
  • It is decorated with hand-carved tiles. The mihrab niche is decorated with gold gilding; the minbar and the preacher’s pulpit are made of white-painted wood.
  • On the right side, there is a small stone minaret with a single balcony.
