Aya Triada Greek Orthodox Church
Changes After Construction:
- Construction of the building began in 1896, was completed in 1899, and it was opened for worship in 1902.
- In the narthex of the church, there is a holy spring attributed to Saint Catherine.
Prominent Features:
- The church belongs to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Istanbul.
- The building was constructed in the Neo-Byzantine and Neo-Renaissance styles.
- The church has a closed Greek cross plan; it was built of finely cut stone, and round-arched bell towers are located at its corners.
- The grave of Metropolitan Germanos of Kadıköy is in the church garden.
- The name “Triada” means the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (the Holy Trinity) in Christianity.
