The structure was damaged by fire in 1865.
The structure was rebuilt in 1872 by Osman Efendi.
Prominent Features:
It is also known as Ahmediye School and Ahmediye Mosque Sıbyan School.
The fevkani classroom has an octagonal plan.
The classroom is covered with a single dome.
There is a stone-paved courtyard and a portico arrangement in front of it.
The exterior facade is of cut stone; there are wooden windows on the lower row and clerestory windows above.
