Changes After Construction:
  • The building, constructed by the Ministry of Education in 1923, began educational activities under the name 32nd Primary School.
  • In 1963, Sabri Ülker, one of the owners of the Ülker Biscuit Factory, had the present complex, in which the historic building was also preserved, built in the name of his son Ali Ülker, who had died in an accident.
  • The historic building underwent restoration in 2008.
Prominent Features:
  • The school also served under the names Maltepe Primary School and Topkapı Maltepe Primary School in the course of its history.
  • The 32nd Primary School was commissioned for the education of the children of migrant families settled in Davutpaşa Barracks during the First World War.
  • Official records state that the architect of the Ministry of Education Construction Bureau, which commissioned the early Republican period schools, between 1923 and 1927 was Şemsettin Şeniz.
