Smart City Project: DİJİTAL İSTANBUL
The İstanbul Governorship’s Smart City Project “Dijital İstanbul” aims to be a digital guide for those who wish to explore our cultural heritage. With this project, it is now possible to access information about the registered cultural assets in Istanbul, such as their construction year, founder, architect, and prominent features, in a fast, accurate, and understandable way.
With more than 40,000 registered cultural assets, the city’s first phase began with the meticulous installation of QR code technology panels on 603 mosques and 225 tombs. This technology, which allows access to information about historical buildings in both written and audio formats, is compatible with all smart devices.
“Dijital İstanbul,” prepared in five languages: Turkish, English, German, Russian, and Arabic, also serves as a travel map for local and foreign visitors who want to learn and share historical, cultural, and architectural details.
