What Is “Dijital İstanbul”?
The project makes it possible to access accurate, fast, and comprehensible information about Istanbul’s registered cultural heritage assets, such as their construction year, founder, architect, and prominent features.
To date, QR code panels have been carefully installed at a total of 1,626 registered cultural heritage assets across 9 categories, including 129 Church, 291 Grave (Fatih Mosque Cemetery), 63 Lodge, 68 Madrasa, 643 Mosque, 45 Primary School, 150 School, 14 Synagogue, and 223 Tomb, and provide service 24/7.
This technology, which enables access to information about our cultural heritage assets in both written and audio form in five languages — Turkish, English, German, Russian, and Arabic — is compatible with all smart devices.
“Dijital İstanbul” also serves as a travel map for local and foreign visitors who wish to learn about and share historical, cultural, and architectural details. It also lets you discover the nearest works based on your location and create a route.
