- Changes after its construction
- The mosque was completed late due to war and economic reasons.
- The openings in the narthex were covered with iron joinery and glass panels, and then it was transformed into a structure with wooden joinery and glass panels.
- A glass windshield was added to the entrance front.
- The dome and drum of the structure are built with bricks and plastered.
- Prominent Features
- The building, also known as Kartaltepe Mosque and Bakırköy Mosque, has a single-domed prayer room, a three-dome narthex with three openings and a single-balcony minaret.
- The parts up to the dome level and the section of the minaret up to the balcony are made of cut limestone, and the upper part of the minaret is completed with cut stone.
- There are inscriptions containing the 39th verse of the Surah Ali Imran* at the entrance of the narthex and the Harim.
- It has similar decorations to Bebek Mosque; however, the rosettes on some keystones are unique to Amine Hatun Mosque. The square space was transformed into an octagon with pointed arches on the four side surfaces and corner domes, thus providing a transition to the dome drum.
- It is placed wide and flat on a high drum; it is covered with lead. The weight of the dome is transferred to the body walls by means of eight support towers and pointed arches.
*So the angels called out to him (Zechariah) while he stood praying in the sanctuary, “Allah gives you good news of ˹the birth of˺ John, who will confirm the Word of Allah and will be a great leader, chaste, and a prophet among the righteous.
