Changes After Construction
It is known that a monastery dating to the 10th century existed on the site where the present church stands.
The present church was built in 1804 and was repaired in 1831.
The holy spring in its courtyard, dedicated to the Prophet Elijah, was repaired in 1945.
The windows of the priest’s residence on the courtyard retaining wall were bricked up, and the space was abandoned.
