Changes After Construction:
  • It is known that a monastery dating to the 10th century existed on the site where the present church stands.
  • The present church was built in 1804 and was repaired in 1831.
  • The holy spring in its courtyard, dedicated to the Prophet Elijah, was repaired in 1945.
  • The windows of the priest’s residence on the courtyard retaining wall were bricked up, and the space was abandoned.
