Changes After Construction

  1. Over time it has undergone many repairs and renovations.

  2. It was repaired by Abdul Hamid II in 1891.

  3. The narthex was added later.

Featured Highlights

  • It is also known as Etyemez Mosque.

  • It is a square-plan, masonry building with a wooden roof covered with tiles.

  • There are two long windows on each wall.

  • The single-balcony minaret on the right is made entirely of cut stone and is original.

  • Inside there is a maqsurah on the right side and a chamber on the left side.

  • The women's gallery is accessed via a staircase from the maqsurah.

  • The graves of Sheikh of Sadi Dervish Lodge Ahmed Muhtar Kesbi Efendi and Sheikh Mehmed Said Efendi are also located in the cemetery.

  • Its mihrab is made of marble, while its minbar, preacher’s pulpit and ceiling are made of wood.

  • The inner wall skirts are covered with tiles.
