The building on the Bosphorus shore, commissioned as an annex to Çırağan Palace, was used in its early period as the Harem quarters.
According to Engineer Necip Bey’s 1918 Atlas of Istanbul, it is shown as the residence of Selahaddin Efendi, the son of Sultan Murad V.
The structure, whose original exterior façade and ceiling decorations have largely been preserved, began educational activities in 1924 as the 21st School of the Republic.
In the garden of the building overlooking the Bosphorus, landscaping was carried out in 1995, historic trees were placed under protection, and a tree survey was prepared.
The space now used as the school canteen is the place where Sultan Murad V resided for 28 years after being deposed from the throne.
