The building is also known as “Kal de Abaşo” and “Kehilla Santral.”
The marble inscription above the entrance gate on İcadiye Avenue contains quotations from the Torah.
From the courtyard entered directly from the street, the women’s gallery (azara) is reached through the first door on the right.
The masonry building is covered with a hipped roof sloping in four directions.
Together with the L-shaped azara, the synagogue has a capacity of approximately 260 people; the octagonal dome in the main hall is described as being decorated with scenes inspired by the Torah.
Of the two midrash buildings that once stood in the garden, one continues to serve for worship; the other has been converted into a reception hall.
The Bet Yaakov and Bet Nissim synagogues operate on a rotating basis.
